Psychotherapeutic Occupational Therapy for ADHD, Autism, Trauma and Emotional Wellbeing

Helping you understand not only what has happened, but how it continues to shape your relationships, identity, daily life and participation in what matters.

- Lucinda Pollard - emOTive therapy

Working With Areas Such As Anxiety, Depression, Burnout, Trauma, Identity And Overwhelm In A Way That Makes Sense For How Your Brain And Life Actually Function.

Are you struggling with feelings of stress, anxiety, or depression?

Do you feel overwhelmed or stuck in negative patterns of thought and behaviour?

You don't have to face these challenges alone.

As a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist, I can help you understand more about yourself and how to get where you want to be.

There are many ways I can help, whether that is learning how to manage your anxiety, learning how to get through a job interview, understanding how to support your ADHD, reducing your self-harm, managing your emotions or many more.

emOTive therapy was born out of my passion for combining my expertise in Occupational Therapy and mental health alongside supporting individuals in times of difficulty, change, or feeling lost.

I understand that life can be difficult, and each person has their own reason, which leads them to seek out therapy. I hope to create a safe and trauma-informed space that allows you to feel comfortable exploring and processing your feelings, thoughts, past traumas, and anything else that is currently impacting your life.

How I Work

My approach is trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and grounded in both occupational therapy and psychotherapy.

We work together to:

  • Understand what’s happening for you (not just “what’s wrong”)

  • Explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, body and behaviour

  • Reconnect you with your occupational self; how you live, function and engage in life

  • Gradually shape sustainable ways of participating in your day-to-day life

This isn’t about pushing through or fixing you.

It’s about building a way of living that actually works for you.

What I Do

When things feel overwhelming, stuck, or disconnected, it’s not just about what you’re thinking or feeling, it’s about how that’s impacting your ability to live your life.

I offer psychotherapeutic occupational therapy, which means we don’t just talk about what’s going on. We explore how your experiences are affecting your day-to-day life, your sense of self, and your ability to engage in the things that matter to you.

This might include:

  • Feeling stuck in cycles of anxiety, burnout or shutdown

  • Struggling with motivation, routine or follow-through

  • Navigating trauma, shame or emotional overwhelm

  • Losing connection with your identity, roles or sense of purpose

Do Any Of These Resonate With You?

  • Neurodivergent and finding it difficult to live in a neurotypical world?

  • Struggling with the weight of past traumas and seeking a safe space to process and heal?

  • Feeling overwhelmed, anxious or low in mood?

  • Struggling with self-harm or other coping strategies that you want to move away from?

  • Struggling with low self-esteem, loss of confidence or a lack of fulfilment in life?

  • Returning to work after time off and not sure how you are going to cope?

  • Navigating work challenges and unsure how to make the most of Access to Work support?

  • Finding it difficult to cope with the sensory world around you?

  • Trying to process grief or trauma and finding it overwhelming?

  • Experiencing irritability, anger or difficulty managing your emotions?

  • Parenting a neurodivergent child and feeling unsure how best to support them?

  • Feeling exhausted trying to balance your own needs alongside supporting others?
